About This Artwork
A lion with a vast, shaggy mane in rich browns tilts his head back, eyes shining and mouth curled into a delighted grin. His verdict arrives in a speech bubble big enough to fill the room: "OOOH... THAT IS SIMPLY MAGNIFICENT!!!" The object of all this admiration is a tall green cactus, bristling with pale yellow spines and crowned with purple, yellow and red blooms. Behind it, framed paintings hang along a pale wall, among them a snowy-looking scene of pine trees and rushing water.
Down by his side, a little cub with flushed pink cheeks and a pained expression sets the record straight in three quick bubbles: "JEEZ DAD YOU'RE EMBARRASSING ME", "IT'S JUST A PLANT IT'S NOT IN THE EXHIBITION!!" and "KEEP YOUR VOICE DOWN!!!". The paintings on the wall go entirely unnoticed. Dad looks as if he has never been more moved in his life, and as if no amount of correcting will change his mind.
Faux Pas is part of Big, Bold & Bonkers, where big art meets bad behaviour and nobody apologises. Its cast is made up of gloriously ridiculous characters with questionable morals, oversized personalities and a rather impressive opinion of themselves, painted in bold colours with dark humour and a healthy disregard for good taste. The collection exists only as oversized limited edition canvas prints, because some nonsense deserves to be taken very seriously.
Faux Pas is available in two sizes, each produced in a strictly limited edition:
- 100 × 100 cm / 40 × 40 in - Worldwide edition of 50
- 135 × 135 cm / 53 × 53 in - Worldwide edition of just 25
Each print is assigned an individual edition number and accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity from the artist.
Edition numbers are recorded by Tim Hupkes. Once an edition is sold out, it will never be reproduced in that size.
Framing
Faux Pas is available in multiple framing options. Choose your preferred finish from the options above.
Please note that the limited edition applies to the artwork and size worldwide, regardless of the country it ships to or the chosen frame. For example, only 25 prints will ever be produced at 135 × 135 cm, across all countries and framing options combined.
Certificate of Authenticity
Every Faux Pas limited edition print is assigned its own edition number and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity from Tim Hupkes.
As the artwork is produced and shipped directly by the professional print partner, the edition number is documented on the Certificate of Authenticity rather than written on the canvas itself. The certificate is sent separately by the artist.
Choosing the Right Size
Not sure which size will work best in your space? As a general rule, larger art creates more impact, while smaller sizes work beautifully in more intimate spaces or as part of a gallery wall.
A simple trick is to mark the dimensions on your wall with painter’s tape. It gives you a much better sense of scale before you choose.

Canvas prints are museum-quality giclée prints on archival poly-cotton canvas with a matte-satin finish, stretched over a solid wooden frame and ready to hang.
Fine art paper prints are giclée printed on heavyweight, softly textured archival paper. Framed prints come with handcrafted wooden frames and protective glazing.
Original artworks are created by Tim using artist-quality papers, canvas, coloured pencil, ink, watercolour or acrylic, depending on the piece.

Shipping, Delivery & Returns
Prints are made to order by my professional print partner, usually within 1–2 business days (up to 4–5 during busy periods), and are produced close to their destination whenever possible.
Original artworks are carefully packed by me and dispatched from the Netherlands within 3 business days. Delivery times depend on your location, and tracking is provided when available.
Canvas and paper prints can be returned within 30 days of delivery.
Original work can be returned within 14 days of delivery.
Please always contact me before returning anything so I can provide the correct return address and instructions. Returns sent without contacting me first may not reach the correct location and may therefore not be eligible for a refund.
