Chaos brings two classic omens of bad luck together in one very pleased-looking black cat. Standing upright, green eyes gleaming, it has picked up a wooden ladder and announces its intentions in scribbled capitals: “Let’s do this!”

The work plays with superstition and Friday the 13th. A black cat crossing your path, walking under a ladder: both are things you are supposed to avoid. So what happens when the cat brings the ladder along? I like taking a familiar idea and pushing it just far enough to turn it into a small, mischievous story. The loose, scratchy drawing gives the cat its wild energy, while the warm ladder and bright green eyes keep the image light and slightly ridiculous.

Chaos is released as a limited edition of only 5 fine art prints on A1 paper (84.1 × 59.4 cm). Each print is individually numbered, making this a deliberately small edition rather than an endlessly reproduced image.

Not sure which size will work best in your space? As a general rule, larger art creates more impact, while smaller sizes work beautifully in more intimate spaces or as part of a gallery wall.

A simple trick is to mark the dimensions on your wall with painter’s tape. It gives you a much better sense of scale before you choose.

Original artworks are carefully packed by me and dispatched from the Netherlands within 3 business days. Delivery times depend on your location, and tracking is provided when available.

Canvas and paper prints can be returned within 30 days of delivery. 
Original work can be returned within 14 days of delivery.
Please always contact me before returning anything so I can provide the correct return address and instructions. Returns sent without contacting me first may not reach the correct location and may therefore not be eligible for a refund.
