As an artist, I am constantly engaged in a dialogue between intuition and intention. Every canvas begins with a feeling, a gesture, a colour that demands attention. Yet not every creation becomes a large, outspoken painting. Some are whispers, quick notes, pure, unembellished moments of joy. That is where my Studio Notes come from.
Today I would like to take you behind the scenes: what makes these Limited Editions so special, and why do they deserve a place in your collection?
The Origin: a diary in images
My studio is my laboratory. It is the place where I experiment, where I am allowed to make mistakes, and where the most unexpected combinations sometimes lead to the most beautiful discoveries. The Studio Notes are the gems that arise in between larger series. They are spontaneous bursts of creativity, swift impressions of an emotion or a colour combination I do not wish to forget.
Think of them as the visual equivalent of a poetic sketch: not intended as an epic poem, but as a haiku – small, powerful and perfect in its simplicity.
Why a ‘Limited Edition’?
The term ‘Limited Edition’ appears often. But what does it really mean? For me it comes down to three things: value, accessibility, and integrity.
Value through rarity: each Studio Notes print is a numbered and registered edition. A strict limit is set on the number of prints ever produced (for example, 50 copies – each listing in my shop specifies the edition size). After that, the file is destroyed and the image will never again be available as a print. This ensures rarity and preserves the uniqueness of your artwork.
Accessibility: not everyone has the space or the budget for a large, original canvas. With my Studio Notes I want to make the magic of an original artwork accessible to a wider audience. You are investing in a piece that is part of an exclusive series, without compromising on the quality and emotion that characterise my work.
Integrity towards the collector: by limiting an edition, I make you a promise. I safeguard the exclusivity and future value of your purchase. It is a sign of mutual respect between artist and collector.
The process: from studio to you
The journey of a Studio Note is one of careful attention:
Original creation: It all begins with a small, original work on paper or canvas, created spontaneously in my studio.
Selection: I choose only the most powerful and successful studies.
Fine Art Print: working with a professional art printer, I ensure that every colour, every texture, every nuance of the original is perfectly captured on the very finest museum-quality paper.
Registration and signature: each print is numbered (e.g. 3/50) and digitally hand-signed by me, so you can be certain you are acquiring an authentic part of my artistic practice.
An artwork for the true collector
A Studio Notes Limited Edition is more than decoration. It is a chance to own a fragment of my creative process. It is for the collector who values the birth of an idea, the rough sketch, the pure energy of a moment captured in paint and ink.
It is an accessible way to begin collecting art, or to enrich an existing collection with an intimate and personal work.
