Sometimes a piece begint as a personal assignment. This is one of those works. It was an ivitation to slow down, to let colour, movement and composation breathe. A prelude: the first note, a setting of tone. In soft hues and a quiet rhythm.

Prelude A emerged from a desire to capture stillness. No drama, no struggle. Just paint, movement, a light and spontaneous dance born from joy and freedom in a sunlit room. Trusting that subtlety can stand on its own. The result is an image that doesn’t shout, but whispers. A moment in quietude in paint.

This work is part of the Studio Notes series. These are spontaneous pieces that appear like echoes, like spaces in-between, or as a prelude to another work. Prelude A is the first in a diptych. Prelude B explores the same atmosphere through a different movement.
